February

9th - St. Maries City Park Playground Fundraiser - spaghetti dinner and auction at the Elks Lodge.

10th - St. Joe Snow Riders Special Olympics Ride - location to be announced.

17th - St. Joe Snow Riders Snowmobile Drag Races - airport at Elk River, Idaho. Registration 8:30-10:00am.  For more information, call Paul or Shelby Shoemaker, 208-883-8796.

17th - St. Joe Valley Gun Show - St. Maries Eagles Lodge. 9am-4pm.  Swap, trade or buy guns and accessories. Come early for the bargains.

23rd - Cinderella - Shows at 3pm and 7pm at the Heyburn Gym.  The Missoula Children's Theatre and over 50 local students will present an original musical adaptation of Cinderella.  Auditions for the production will be Mon., Feb 18th, from 3-5pm at the Heyburn Gym.  Students in the St Maries school district grades kindergarten through 12th grade are encouraged to audition.  For more information, call Liesa Grant at 08-245-1986.


March

21st - Ducks Unlimited Banquet - St. Maries. Prime Rib dinner, art auction and games. Benefits the national Ducks Unlimited organization. Pat Flach 245-5667

5th - Idaho Saddle Club Assoc (ISCA) Spring Round-Up - 12:00pm noon at the Walker Building (Fairgrounds), St. Maries.  For more information, call Myra at (208) 661-7347 or email myrajo223@roadrunner.com 

12th - St. Maries Junior Miss - Held at the Heyburn Gym.  St. Maries High School Juniors compete for scholarships, prizes and the local title. The St. Maries winner goes on to compete for the state title.

18th - Chamber of Commerce Spting Fling Banquet & Auction - Annual Banquet & Auction to support the St Maries Chamber of Commerce.

26th - Community Clean up Day - St. Maries. Citizens and business owners clean up the Downtown streets.


May

Memorial Day Weekend - Fisherman's Breakfast - Avery. Annual fisherman's breakfast, Avery Community Center. Breakfast same day as opening date of trout season.


June

Horseback Poker Ride - 15 mile ride, 50% pay back. $10 entry fee / $5 entry fee for children under 12. For more information contact: Dottie Hodgson 245-2349 or cell phone 691-9823. Sponsored by the Benewah Valley Association. Date to be announced.

7th- Free Fishing Day - Saturday, June 7, is Free Fishing Day in Idaho. The Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) invites novice anglers of all ages (residents and nonresidents alike) to celebrate the day by fishing any public waters in Idaho without a license.

28th-29th - Idaho Saddle Club Assoc (ISCA) State Show - Benewah County Fairgrounds, St. Maries.  For more information, call Kim at (208) 755-6309.

18th - Valley Vista Free BBQ - St. Maries. Free BBQ Valley Vista parking lot.

18th, 19th - St. Joe Valley Car Club Show and Shine - St. Maries. Cars and pickups of all ages, all types. Prizes awarded. Evening dance to 50's music. Sponsored by the St Joe Valley Car Club.

18th, 19th & 20th - Redemption at Plummer's Butte - Plummer - Cowboy action shoot using original or replica firearms prior to 1890.  For information, see www.panhandleregulators.com

19th & 20th - 19th Annual St. Maries Art Festival - SmART by the River - St.Maries. The annual s.m.ART by the River Festival of the Arts at Cherry Bend Boat Park has grown each year, making it a popular annual event. Artists from around the Northwest offer paintings, sculptures, woodcrafts, baskets, photographs and a variety of other mediums. Music and entertainment is provided. Admission to the festival is free.


August

1st, 2nd & 3rd - Boat Club Poker Run - St. Maries. Boat Poker run starts on the St. Joe River in St. Maries traveling to the designated stops on Lake Coeur d' Alene then Harrison to turn in your hands. Prizes awarded. Annual event sponsored by the St Joe River Boat Club.

14th, 15th, 16th & 17th - Benewah County Fair - St. Maries.  For information, see

September

Labor Day Weekend - Paul Bunyan Days - St. Maries. Three days of Logger competition, food booths, carnival rides and games. Other activities include a car club breakfast and evening dance, street dance, parade, 3 on 3 basketball, swim pool events, Idaho's largest "topless" beer bar (no roof), and a great fireworks show Sunday night. 


October

Heyburn Elementary School Halloween Carnival - 2nd or 3rd weekend, St. Maries. Fun event for the children, sponsored by the Heyburn School PTO.


November

December

6th - Christmas in St. Maries - St. Maries. Games for the children, pictures with Santa, stroll on Main St, hay rides, 5 pm lighted Christmas parade Main Street.

6th - Holiday Craft Bazaar - St Maries. Annual event held first weekend in December at the Eagles Lodge.


MONTHLY EVENTS

Second Wednesday of each month St. Maries Chamber of Commerce Board meetings, 7:00 a.m. at the Idaho Dept of Labor office.
